Installation Policy
Effective: April 2025 | Republic of South Africa | shelvingstore.co.za
This policy applies to all orders that include a professional installation service provided by Shelving Store or its installers (Fettlen Group Pty Ltd). It complies with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA). Your statutory rights as a consumer are not limited by anything in this policy.
1. Agreement to These Terms
By paying for an order that includes installation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accept this Installation Policy and the terms contained in our Installation Waiver.
2. Scope of Installation
All installations are carried out strictly based on the items purchased, whether via our online store or confirmed by a written quotation sent by email.
- If any items are missing or incorrectly listed on a quote, it is your responsibility to inform us before making payment.
- Once payment is received, the order is binding and the contents are considered accepted in full.
- Any missing items identified after payment will require a new quote to be issued.
- All updates or amendments must be submitted in writing via email.
3. If You Are Unhappy with the Installation
If you are dissatisfied with a completed installation:
- Our Returns Policy governs the return of any products.
- You remain liable for the full installation cost, including any delivery and handling charges associated with the completed work.
4. Hidden Services & Structures
Our installers take all reasonable care when fitting floor and wall anchors. However, Fettlen Group and its installers will not be held responsible for any damage caused to hidden or embedded services, including:
- Electrical wiring
- Water or gas pipes
- Other utilities within floors, walls, or surrounding structures
It is your responsibility to provide accurate and up-to-date information about the location of all hidden services before installation begins. Where no service drawings, utility scans, or written confirmation of safe drilling areas are provided, our installers will proceed on the best available information and all associated risks rest with you.
5. Structural Suitability
We assume that all floors and walls where anchors are to be fitted are structurally sound and suitable for the intended purpose. No structural assessments are carried out by our installers unless agreed in writing beforehand. It is your responsibility to confirm that all surfaces can support the intended loads and fixings. If there is any doubt, we strongly recommend engaging a qualified structural engineer or service detection professional before installation begins.
6. What We Are Not Liable For
Fettlen Group shall not be liable for:
- Damage to hidden or undocumented services during anchor installation.
- Structural failure caused by unsuitable or unstable surfaces.
- Loss of business, service disruption, or consequential damages arising from such incidents.
- The performance or safety of any equipment, racking, or fixtures attached to installed anchors, unless expressly included in our agreed scope of work.
7. Your Responsibility After Installation
Once installation is complete and our team has left your site, all responsibility for the products and any items stored on them passes to you.
- Any damage caused by loading or packing stock onto our products is your responsibility.
- Fettlen Group is not liable for damage arising from improper use, overloading, or incorrect loading practices.
8. Additional & Remedial Work
If repositioning, redrilling, or additional work is required because of incomplete or inaccurate information provided by you, such work will be charged at our standard rates. We will quote you before proceeding.
9. Policy Changes
Shelving Store reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. The version in force at the time of your order governs that transaction.
