UDL stands for Uniformly Distributed Load. It tells you how much weight a shelf or racking level can support when that weight is spread evenly across the full surface.
A shelf rated at 200kg UDL can carry up to 200kg when the load is distributed evenly. One very heavy item placed in the centre creates a concentrated load and is not the same as a 200kg UDL.
